T.D. Turnage

The following information was provided by J. Danny Turnage

"I noticed in the listing of CO. C 8th SCVI that the list shows a Private T.D. Turnage died of Disease in August, 1861.  However, the information that I have states that it was Private Benjamin Franklin Turnage, age 22, Died of Disease Aug. 25, 1861 at General Hospital, Orange Court House, Va.  This information is from his Confederate service record that I obtained from the State Archives in Columbia and he is listed in the SC Book of the Dead.  He is also listed in the book Broken Fortunes which states that he is buried in Culpeper County, Va. but I have never been able to locate it, because I am afraid it is unmarked and I would like to put a marker at his grave.  I believe the T.D. Turnage you have listed was Dillard Turnage which was taken prisoner in late war."
